Тренировочный вариант №7 предназначен для подготовки учащихся 8 класса к ВПР 2027 по английскому языку. Вариант имеет слегка повышенный уровень сложности и содержит задания по аудированию, чтению, грамматике и письменной речи.

В аудировании необходимо внимательно сопоставлять числовые и фактические детали, в чтении — выбирать ответ на основании конкретной информации из текста, а в грамматическом задании — самостоятельно преобразовывать слова в соответствии с контекстом.

На выполнение всей работы рекомендуется отвести не более 45 минут. Сначала выполните задания самостоятельно, а затем проверьте ответы и прочитайте объяснения.

Why repair cafés are becoming popular

When a toaster, lamp or bicycle stops working, many people immediately think about buying a replacement. However, in a growing number of towns, people are being encouraged to repair broken things instead of throwing them away.

One way to do this is through a repair café. Despite the name, a repair café is not simply a place where people drink coffee. It is usually a community event where volunteers help visitors repair household objects. People may bring small electrical devices, clothes, toys, furniture or bicycles.

The first repair cafés became popular in Europe and the idea has since spread to many other countries. The events are often organised in libraries, community centres or schools. Tools are provided, and volunteers with practical skills show visitors how to identify problems and fix them.

An important part of the idea is learning. Instead of simply leaving a broken object and collecting it later, visitors are encouraged to take part in the repair. This means they may be able to solve a similar problem themselves in the future.

Repair cafés also have environmental advantages. Producing new products requires energy and raw materials, while throwing old objects away creates waste. Extending the life of an item can therefore reduce the need to manufacture a replacement.

There is also a social side to repair cafés. People from different age groups meet, share knowledge and work together. An older volunteer may know how to repair a bicycle, while a younger visitor may be able to help with a computer or smartphone.

Of course, not everything can be repaired. Some products are badly damaged, while others contain parts that cannot easily be replaced. Electrical items can also be dangerous if repairs are attempted without the necessary knowledge.

For this reason, repair café organisers often remind visitors that safety comes first. Even when an object cannot be saved, the event can still help people understand how products work and why repairing things is sometimes better than immediately replacing them.

Welcome to Riverside Library. This year we have several activities and facilities specially designed for teenagers.

Our English conversation club meets every Tuesday and Thursday from five until half past six. It is completely free for teenagers aged thirteen to seventeen. You do not need to bring any books because all the materials are provided by the library.

If you enjoy board games, our chess club meets on Saturday mornings at eleven. Beginners are welcome, and experienced players can also join. We organise a chess competition every two months, with small prizes for the three best players. Please note that the chess club takes a break during August and starts again on the first Saturday in September.

The library’s study room is open to all students. From Monday to Friday, you can use it from three in the afternoon until half past eight in the evening. At weekends, the room is open from ten in the morning until five in the afternoon.

The study room stays open throughout the summer, including August. The conversation club also continues during the summer holidays, although there are no meetings during the final week of July.

Задание 4 оценивается по четырём критериям:

решение коммуникативной задачи — до 3 баллов;
организация текста — до 2 баллов;
лексико-грамматическое оформление текста — до 3 баллов;
орфография и пунктуация — до 2 баллов.

Требуемый объём электронного письма — 90–110 слов. Если объём письма менее 81 слова, ответ оценивается в 0 баллов по всем критериям. Если объём превышает 121 слово, проверяются только первые 110 слов.

Максимальный первичный балл за всю работу — 25.
